Participation is a central dimension of Chiara Gelmini’s artistic practice. Alongside her performance and curatorial work, she develops educational and community-based formats for children, teenagers and adults, where artistic experience becomes a shared space of growth and expression.

Her work with children ranges from early music education (ages 1–3 and 3–5) to choir practice (6–10), theatre workshops and applied arts. These activities are rooted in formative encounters with inspiring educators—from Montessori-based preschool to choir training with Maestro Alessandro Pace and Maestro Maria Susovsky—who shaped her understanding of education as a space of beauty, discipline and emotional intelligence.

For adults, she creates participatory workshops in voice, storytelling, performative practices and inclusive dance (including Butoh-based explorations), often within intercultural and interdisciplinary contexts.

Across all formats, inclusion is not treated as a separate category but as a structural principle: each participant is offered tools and environments adapted to their specific abilities, rhythms and expressive potential. The aim is to cultivate autonomy, embodied awareness and collective presence, in an atmosphere of curiosity and shared discovery.
